New York City Nightlife, Clubs, Cafes, Bars - The Best Tips Guide For New york city Entertainment NYC is a great place for nightlife no matter if you are a tourist or somebody who calls NYC their home. HUB of the Jazz world is what NYC is called since that is where a lot of greats made their names and if you are just starting out this is where to go. NYC isn't famous only for its Jazz, with countless nightclubs NYC contains some of the best in the world. If you want something a bit more comfortable than simply a dance floor filled nightclub, you can head to one of the numerous lounges to enjoy your music and drinks in comfort. It does not matter what age group you are in NYC carters to them all, they have huge concerts with well known musicians, and the comedy clubs where famous comedians call home.
We went on a friday night looking for a nightclub with a cool atmosphere and someone recommended Ace of Clubs Nightclub so we hopped in a cab and $40 later we arrived at Ace of Clubs. However when we got there it wasn't really our scene. The music was too loud and the drinks cost a lot, although I'm sure many people would have loved it there. We headed back to the hotel to research a better club to go to.
When we got back to our hotel we ask the desk clerk if she could recommend a good nightclub and she told us to check ploose which is a directory for new NYC nightclubs and location. All we had to do was enter our location (New York City) and were gifted with a list of possible nightclubs we could go to. We decided to head to one that was close and has drink specials on so we went out and grabbed the first cab we could. There were video tours on the 'ploose' site which we had watched before we made our mind up, and when we actually go to the club it was precisely as it had seemed on the tours. When we got there we got us a table ordered a bottle of grey goose and had a great time. The name of the nightclub if you are interested is 'The Pink Elephant'. After enjoying the night we went back to our hotel for and went to sleep.
Saturday daytime was spent doing touristy stuff such as checking out 5th avenue, touring Manhattan and eating in a few restaurants that we chose at random, by the time the evening came we didn't have enough steam left for a big night. We checked ploose again since we were tired we felt like finding a low-key lounge and we found one nearby and decided that we would check it out The name of the place was the Sapphire Lounge. It was nicely decorated in a traditional way, it kind of felt like you were having a get-together in your own front room. It had these really lovely red curtains that enhanced the atmosphere even more. House music was being played by the DJ but it wasn't over powering and the price for drinks wasn't as bank breaking as some places in New York. We highly recommend it.
Sunday came around and we wanted to watch the Football game so we ploosed a nearby sports bar. We found Proof NYC and let me tell you, I was REALLY glad we went there. There is a HUGE TV that is 8 feet long--that TV was no joke. With scarlet walls and a lovely hardwood floor the bar itself was more than comfortable to hang out in. With beer specials in abundance you can imagine we had a good time. We were enjoying our last day in New York City, we ordered food and sipped our drinks.

We still had time before we left town to stop at a jazz bar called the "Blue Note". This is one of the best jazz bars in the world that I have been to, I highly recommend it. It was at about half or more capacity but not too crowded, decorated beautifully and the featured musicians blew our minds!
As you can tell NYC has plenty of choice when it comes to nightlife and entertainment. Our trip was only short so we didn't have time to sneak in a trip to Broadway or the Opera, although there is always next time!
Work hard, party harder, and get home safe.
